This then moved me on to looking at 60's/70's glamour makeup i was very inspired by the heavy eye liner and big hair something that even today is used as a key part to any evening look. I have created an initial mood board based on a 60's/70's themed makeup i further chose the images for the photography models poses and lighting as in most of them you will notice they are not looking at the camera i love the candid atmosphere about these images and yet all still in a way show a sexy, confident and beautiful woman.

Face Charts
I've created this chart based on the inspiration from my mood board above, i have used the copper tones within the eye and cheek and a matt red on the lip to create this strong look. I found that when i did this chart i felt that the heavy black liner would look to much so i have kept it to a soft smokey black liner close to the lash line, this is much more sultry.

I have done some test images of the makeup look, i found that the colours used on the face chart were a lot softer than pictured above, although i actually preferred it. The softer texture within the eye allowed the lip to be the bold statement of the look. I feel that the colour tones work successfully together the gold, copper, bronze tones with the eye picked up in the blush tone and these all complimented the statement red of the lip.
Hair
I began taking inspiration from 70's glamour big hair and from this it took in other elements of glamour hair that i love such as the sleek finger waves combining these styles into a glamour look. I love the bottom and middle right texture waves its sexy but sleek and structured yet the tousled effect giving it that real glamour element. I further love the bouffant style that was a staple in the 70's.

I have created two drawing based on my initial ideas, i want to create a side sweep fringe with a bouffant style at the back. i want the style to be sleek and sexy, the first would be a tight finger wave and the other would be softer waves similar to the ones in the mood board above.
I further very quickly did a brief idea on myself what the style would look like although i haven't curled it or anything i like the texture thats relaxed so i think i will go for the soft wave drawing on the right, this is a sexy style that portals the feel i want the images to have more than the tighter style.
Hair Chart
Soft waves, deep side swept parting and large bouffant style at the back, tucked up and into a bob style.
Equipment/Products:
-Tongs
-Pin Tail Comb
-Soft Brush
-Section Clips
-Hair Spray
-bun pins
-bobbie pins
Step 1:
Part the hair into the sections, deep side section, at the crown of the head to the centre of the back for the bouffant and tong the hair into the finger wave curled style, by brick working the sections for the tongs, pinning into place until cool.
Step 2:
Taking out the cooled sections brush out and push up using the pin tail comb to pull out the bottom of the style to create the softer curls you will begin to see the style taking place.
Step 3:
Back comb in sections the bouffant section of the style pin in place at the centre of the back of the head.
Experimentation
I wanted to experiment with the style to understand how it would look once created properly, i found that when i create the style the bouffant looked out of place and didn't flow with the look, i further feel that with the makeup the look will look very over styled were as i wanted to create more of a effortless sleek and confident feel to the images. When i took out the style i preferred the down sleek style that was left without any of the other elements.
Waves Straight Down: There is more of a sleek and effortless feel to this style.
Final Mood board Hair

After seeing the image that i used for makeup inspiration above of Rosie Huntington Whitley i love everything about this image the lighting is intimate but striking and the monochromatic colour pallett of red is powerful and seductive something i further want to use within the styling of the shoot. I want to use this as inspiration using a red background colour and warm lighting. This intimate lighting is also favoured by NARS often creating a close atmosphere within there images.
Final Images
{NARS-EVENING LOOK}
The final shoot went very well and everything to plan. The monochromatic style to the images are a strong point i feel, yet the contrast in the texture of the hair creates a feature point. The look is well suited to an evening look and for the consumer of NARS its wearable for the every day woman, yet still encompasses a sense of creativity in colour with the copper, peach eye and bright red of the lip mirrored in the background. The hair is in line with the sleek, elegance of the overall look something I found was a key point to most of the evening looks created by NARS, the women featured within there ad's are strong, sensual yet elegant something i feel i have achieved within my final images for the evening advertisement look.
