Colour Theory: Face Charts

Looking at colour theory in relation to makeup and the brand being 'NARS' i have began by looking at the way NARS used colour theory in there advertisements, NARS as a brand is very focused on colour and often use colour to emphasis a feature or in large parts of the advertisements such as a block background colour complimenting or contrasting against the makeup.

Monochromatic 

I wanted to move away from the colour as seen in the NARS advertisement  and use a very neutral tone getting this nude finish, i think this is a different take on monochromatic colours and something NARS as a brand dose very well that bare there makeup both on catwalk and within there adverts.

Analogue 

When i found these images from previous NARS advertisements using the theory of analogue colours i was very inspired by the image on the right advertising there very popular Orgasm range of products. I wanted to re create this but using golden tones creating that real beach golden goddess beauty.

Complimentary 

NARS loves colour and using the complimentary colours as show here brings the makeup to life pulling together the overall look. I have been inspired by Dior S/S15 using a bold eye liner and a complimentary lip making this look is very successful.
