London Trip 9/02/15

Shop Window in Covent Garden: My own Photograph
For part of our brand research development we had a trip into central London, We were taken to Covent Garden were we had a demo at the M.A.C pro store here they concentrated on  the bold lip bare face trend for S/S15 she showed us products that she used to create this look starting with a lip liner, Ruby Woo lipstick a MAC classic and a pigment colour that she patted over the lip to get a flawless matt finish. This was a very eye catching look and by perfecting the lip made the look pop.

We were then able to have a look around all the pro stores in the area including Bobbie Brown, Urban Decay and Illamasqua. They were all there stand alone boutique stores after looking deeply at a brand i have began to pick up on the aesthetics within brands a whole lot more everything is relatable to the brand and within there stand a alone stores you can really get a feel for what the brand is all about and the consumer they are targeting.

I then went to both Space NK in Covent Garden and Liberty's to look at the NARS counters. In Space NK the counter was very small and simplistic very much in keeping with the packaging and essence that NARS has- clean, practical and professional but the colours within the makeup is what draws you in to the counter. In Liberty's i could get much more of a feel for the brand in relation to that i had when i walked into the other boutiques and although i couldn't take pictures i feel i have captured the brand.
Again the main counter was the same as that in Space NK although the display behind the counter is what interested me there were set out industrial shelfs with Images of Francois Nars and many of his Photography Books pilled up much like a living room shelf unit within your house and a lipstick display that looked to me like a sculpture rather than a tester display. This gives across that the brand is aimed towards many different women, the homely reference makes the customer feel at ease but the books draw in the more creative experimentative types. I really liked this element due to this, i further became more interested about the brand by looking at the titles of the books.

I wanted to try the Sheer Glow foundation and a lady in the Space NK applied this for me, I loved the final look and feel of this product! I was going to get this but every shop/website is currently sold out of my shade this proves really just how popular this product is! I loved the dewy finish and very sheer natural finish i felt like i had the coverage i needed but looked as though i was wearing nothing, i would defiantly recommend this product to anyone looking for a sheer summer glow with the coverage of a matter foundation, i am in love! I further purchased a Orgasm blusher a i felt need to try the cult classic product form NARS to see what all the reviews are raving about and why the brand created a whole range steaming from this one product. After taking it home i realised why NARS is such a popular high end brand the packaging feels expensive the matt silky coating on the blush compact creates that luxurious factor although the cardboard outer box gives an industry feel something thats pacifical and will last a long time. The details are precise down to the see through sleeve protector layer inside the compact also printed with the clean, clear NARS logo.
